I have a deep understanding of spirituality and consider myself an established witch. "Bindhis" don't necessarily have to be associated with the general "Indian" culture. For me my third eye is incredibly powerful and perhaps I feel the need to adorn and celebrate it. It doesn't mean I'm strictly doing this as a fashion sense or that I'm insulting the Indian culture.
(CONTD) On one hand it is ignorant to blindly adopt a certain aspect of someone’s religion into a mainstream trend. I understand that it removes the validation from the original meaning, however becoming hostile and bitter towards the people doing so brings a certain light upon you. Do you think that these people deserve your hostility? Are you so spiritually and mentally developed that you have the right to pass judgement?
Before you feel inclined to isolate these individuals perhaps you should seek to educate them so when they DO wear a “bindhi” they will know what it signifies. I fear for humanity’s future because most of you let yourself be guided by your human limitations. That includes the “fashion trendies” and yourself. Humans have forgotten what it’s like to be connected to one another in a way that enhances positive energy. I hope one day we can all escape this infectious poison.
At first this blog angered me greatly but I came to a calm centre and realized that anger is a restrictive human emotion. With a clear mind I feel pity for you. These unjust feelings and misdirected hatred will only deny you from attaining a higher level of consciousness. Please understand I mean you no disrespect but your views on humanity are very poisoned and they will keep you bound to this earth in suffering and unhappiness. (END)
My spiritual goals are commensurate with my activist goals. I have no desire to transcend a suffering, unjust planet without doing all I can to alleviate the injustice in some small way. Enjoy your calm centre and your clear mind.
